Tour de France 1928: original b/w newspaper centre-fold photo from the French sporting newspaper "Match". (fold slightly yellowed). The scene is at the foot of the 1748m climb to the peak of the Col d'Aubisque. The Dutch cyclist Van der Casteele can be seen followed by Frantz, Fontan and Delannoy. The photos from Match were, for their time very sharp,impressive and of unusual high quality. The 65x45 cm double page behind glass in a dark wooden frame with a brass plaque engraved "Tour de France 1928".
