Ines Nikolaus Die Olympische Idee Pierre de Coubertins als erzieherische Herausforderung für die weltweite Olympische Bewegung. For the first time a systematic examination of Olympic educational programmes for schools during the period 1976-2010, developed by hosts of Olympic Games as well as exemplary examples for international and national programmes are documented in the present study. In the main focus of the research is the didactic-methodical approach of the publishers on how to teach Olympic values. The results of a multi-year evaluation study on the International Coubertin Schools’ Network and on a specific annual school project verify what Olympic education might do for the participants’ preparation for their school-leaving examination or in terms of personal development
